Signed Neville Duke Hawker Hunter Red

£149.99 Aircraft. We are delighted to able to offer this exquisite Bravo Delta wooden replica of the famous Red Hawker Hunter, hand signed by its pilot Squadron Leader Neville Duke. In 1948, three of these planes were ordered as prototypes, and the first took to the skies in July 1951. By Early 1953, the Hunter had undergone several modifications, including side mounted airbrakes, extra fuel tanks in the wings and a new reheated version of the Avon engine, and was now known as the Hawker Hunter MkIII. On the 7th September 1953, with Neville Duke in the cockpit, the plane flew from Tangmere to set a new world record air speed of 727.63mph, on a course between Bognor and Littlehampton. The Hunter MkIII was retired just one month later. This exquisite tribute to that plane measures 15 inches in length, 19 inches in width and 4.5 inches in height. Comes complete with presentation stand hand signed by Neville Duke. The model is hand crafted from mahogany, and accurately hand painted using over 35 coats of lacquer. A Bravo Delta model is a true collectors piece.
