Shimano Ultegra SL 6601 Hollowtech II Double Chainset: Ultegra SL, noticeably visually different to the standard Ultegra and invisibly Technically different. Ice grey in colour and Super Light in nature, SL is here! The most visible change comes with the colour of the crankset, but whats not immediately apparant is the weight loss and performance gain. The performance improvement is largely due to the lighter, stiffer, machined steel bottom bracket spindle. The weight saved with the SL crankset is 35g over standard Ultegra, the SL is also fitted with aluminium chain ring bolts, ala Dura-Ace, to further emphasize its aim at the performance end of the market. Chainrings are ramped and pinned for optimum shifting under load and provide smooth and precise shifting. Weight is down to under 800g including the bottom bracket.
