Chardonnay, Pulenta Estate, Mendoza

Pulenta Estate has the philosophy of making 'great wines'. We hear this often, but only a few really get there. Their Chardonnay, however, is great! This is a wine which is handcrafted on a very small scale. The vineyards are located in the Luyan de Cuyo region of Mendoza, at a cool 980m in altitude. Fruit is hand-picked and carefully handled to allow the delicate aromas to be preserved. Ageing takes place in a combination of tank and 9 months in new French oak barrels. What this allows is both richness from the oak whilst still maintaining freshness.
