Britains Railways: The Golden Age of Big Four 1920-1939Filled with archive film, The Golden Age of the Big Four charts the operation of Britain's rail networks between 1920 and 1939, when they were amalgamated into a publicly-owned system. It was the Railway Act of 1921 which led to the integration of Britain's 'Big Four' railway networks, the Great Western Railway, the Southern Railway, the London Midland and Scottish Railway and the London and North Eastern Railway. This documentary analyses the success of this 'golden age' of railway travel and includes features on such train types as the LMS Royal Scot Class, the LMS Patriot Class and the LNER B17 Class.
