Animal Farm (Animated) (1955)This celebrated animated feature film of Orwell's best selling book was the first animated feature made in England to be released worldwide. Inspired, political, and beautiful, it was also, as it turns out, covertly funded by the CIA. The film's ending, in which the animals revolt against the pigs, was a departure from its source, and may have come about due to the scrutiny of the screenplay by the CIA's Psychological Strategy Board, though John Halas thought that the film needed the happier ending of counter-revolution, as it rewarded the audience for their emotional investment.
